We develop stories about what people want, what they hide, and what they’re willing to lose.
Blue Cowboy Pictures is an independent film, television, and artist development Company led by Shawn-Caulin Young. Our work brings an actor’s attention to human behavior to the tension, scale, and contradictions of the American Southwest.
We specialize in development, acting courses, and mentorship: shaping the story on the page and strengthening the people who bring it to life.

A glance, a withheld answer, a choice that cannot be taken back. We develop from the inside out, finding the behavior that makes the premise matter.
Development and training belong in the same conversation. Rigorous story work, active listening, and room to explore give distinctive voices a way forward.

Actor / Writer / Director / Producer / Coach
The performance begins long before the camera rolls.
Shawn-Caulin Young’s roots in Farmington, New Mexico, inform the Company’s Southwest perspective. His work across acting, writing, directing, producing, and coaching connects the demands of the script to the lived moment of a scene.
That combination shapes our approach: curiosity before judgment, specific human behavior, and stories with room for contradiction. People can be tender and dangerous. Families can shelter and wound. A place can belong to you and still make you feel like an outsider.

The craft behind the work

We welcome producers, creative collaborators, and industry partners drawn to distinctive stories and serious craft.
Original film and television lead our work. The Company is establishing a New Mexico base, with production collaborations available in New Mexico and California. Scope, availability, and project arrangements are discussed individually.
